32” x 76” 1/4”-PPG Graylite 14
Tempered
This piece was commissioned by architect John Pryor for the Smith family beach house in Cayucos, California. It is a very large door. The glass panel is 32″ x 76″. It was a fun project and the Smiths were very nice to work with.
I have a duplicates of this panel, one in clear and one in black. Both are tempered.
The works you are seeing are unique in the world. They are never static in appearance for they change constantly as the light environment they are located in changes.
Each architectural piece is made from a monolithic sheet of 0.25″ (6-mm) thick architectural glass which has been shaped in a furnace at very high temperatures. The contour depth of a panel can be as much as 1.5″ (30-mm). The color of the panel is the color of the glass used.
The panels are mono-prints or made in very limited numbers as part of a series. All works shown on this site have been sold, but there are some artist proofs and unfinished series works available.
