Liquid Barney
Liquid Barney
32” x 46” 1/4” clear glass
Black background
Liquid Barney was actually named by my photographer, Forrest Doud. We were shooting some of my work at his studio and when we put the lights on the piece Forrest exclaimed. "Whoa, Liquid Barney." The piece is a portrait study and the finished piece is titled " Barney's Dream of Bullets." Barney Fife, as some of you may remember, was the deputy sheriff of the TV town of Mayberry and was only allowed to carry one bullet in his pocket. In the finished piece there are three bullets floating in the air.
All the lines in the portrait are bent into the glass and were then hand pinstriped with white automotive enamel. Most of the white you see in the photograph is reflected light from the bounce cards in the studio. Technically it is one of my best pieces.
