26” x 65” 1/4” clear glass

Black background

This piece is the first human figure I formed into glass.  It won the NICHE award for best kiln formed glass in the United States in 1999.

One critic said "It looks eerily reminiscent of Cocteau and his post world war two milieu."  And when I checked, he did have a point.

Later at a juried museum show the juror rejected the piece because she found the title offensive.

I am pleasantly confused by it all.

All the lines are hand pinstriped using automotive enamel.  In this case blue on black glass with red cherries.

The frame is angle steel with a black wrinkle powder-coat finish.  The glass is held to the frame with custom fabricated, polished aluminum brackets.

This is one of two.  The other I still have and it is tempered and as of yet, unpainted.
