A Dream Unravels

Woven glass fused to undulating panel
Glass  size: 26” x 65”  PPG Graylite 14
Overall  size:  36” x 82”

This monolith is constructed out of welded steel, black lacquered birch, polished aluminum clips and black architectural glass.   The woven glass on the surface of the undulating back panel is, in fact woven.  Not stacked or layered. The woven strips are then unraveled at the top of the piece.  No glues were used.

This piece is part of the Canvas Series, a large series of woven, then progressively unraveling panels of glass.

The underlaying glass is 1/4” Graylite and the surface weave is composed of 1/8” Graylite strips that are 1” wide and 60” long.  Cutting those strips was a Zen practice all on it’s own.
